NJ Oral Surgeons
The Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons of the Metropolitan Craniofacial Center practice the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from wisdom teeth removal, dental implants and bone grafting to corrective jaw and cosmetic surgery. We also diagnose and treat facial injuries, facial pain and TMJ disorders. Many of our procedures can be performed with intravenous sedation in either our state of the art offices or our Surgery Center at Penthouse IV. For those procedures requiring a general anesthetic, we utilized both the Short Hills Surgery Center and the St. Barnabas Ambulatory Care Center.
Dental implants are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth. The person who has lost teeth regains the ability to eat virtually anything and can smile with confidence, knowing that teeth appear natural and that facial contours will be preserved. For more information about dental implants or to schedule a consultation appointment, call our offices in West Orange NJ at 973-736-7616, West Caldwell NJ at 973-575-8575 or Parsippany NJ at 973-335-3777.
Wisdom teeth are the last teeth to erupt within the mouth. When they align properly and gum tissue is healthy, wisdom teeth do not have to be removed. Unfortunately, this does not generally occur. The extraction of wisdom teeth is necessary when they are prevented from properly erupting within the mouth.
Bone grafting can repair potential implant sites with inadequate bone structure due to previous extractions, gum disease or injuries. Major bone grafts are typically performed to repair defects of the jaws. These defects may arise as a result of traumatic injuries, tumor surgery, or congenital defects.
