Dental implants are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth. The person who has replaced lost teeth with implants regains the ability to eat virtually anything and smile with confidence, knowing that teeth appear natural and that facial contours will be preserved.
Third Molar Removal
Also known as your “wisdom teeth“, your third molars are the last teeth to erupt, usually during the teen years. Unfortunately, wisdom teeth are often not able to erupt fully through the gums and can cause pain, infection, and additional complications, such as damage to adjacent teeth. Your dentist will refer you for consultation if he or she feels there are indications for removal.
Bone grafting can repair potential implant sites that have insufficient bone volume due to previous extractions, gum disease or injuries. Occasionally, significant defects may be present as a result of traumatic injuries, tumor surgery, or congenital defects. Major grafts may be necessary to repair these bony deficiencies.
